FRONT GARDEN FOUR

Making an entrance - Henleaze, Bristol

The architect designed dark brick house inspired this striking front garden design. The front door was hidden from the road and visitors often struggled to find the entrance. Natural pavers did not look right with the unusual bricks of the house and Marshalls Saxon pavers gave us the ideal solution. Their clean uniformed appearance worked perfectly with this house. The crossing paths were inspired by a bench the client had seen in a National Trust garden. This pattern was replicated in the existing metal driveway gate. A local blacksmith reworked the gate giving it a new lease of life as a stunning feature. The overlapping paths, edged with oak sleepers, lead the eye and encourage you to look around the garden.
Strong planting includes Phormiums, Nandina, Hebe and Eriobotrya.
